Nordic Swan Ecolabel windows, window doors and external doors have a reduced environmental and climate impact throughout their life cycle: All the relevant environmental aspects in the life cycle are assessed and strict requirements are set where ecolabelling can have the greatest effect.
The requirements include:
- Limits for energy losses in the use phase
- Material requirements for both wood and metals
- Chemical requirements regarding environmental and health effects
- Limits for VOC-emissions from production
- Tests of functionality and quality to ensure a long service life
- Focus on circular economy with design for disassembly to enable repair and material recycling
- Support for national take-back-systems
The product group includes windows, window doors and external doors. This include windows for both façade and roof, and that can be opened or are fixed, as well as balcony and terrace doors and external doors made of wood, aluminium and/or steel. Products not covered by the standard EN 14351-1 are not included in this product group.

- Start your application.
If this is the first time you are applying, the authorized signatory must fill in your company information and approve the application conditions. In this way, you get login to the portal and the right to assign access to other colleagues.
Some special cases can not be done in the Nordic Ecolabelling Portal. Contact your advisor for such cases. More information can be found on “Application step by step“.
