Nordic Swan Ecolabelled alternative dry cleaning is the cleaning of textiles without the use of volatile organic solvents.
Nordic Swan Ecolabelled alternative dry cleaning uses chemicals that are non-toxic and environmentally suitable. The cleaning agents and surfactants in the chemical preparations (stain removers and finishing agents) are readily biodegradable and do not have long-term effects on health or the environment.
Nordic Swan Ecolabelled alternative dry cleaning enables all types of textiles to be cleaned with excellent results. An example of a cleaning method that can be Nordic Swan Ecolabelled is CO2 cleaning possibly in combination with wetclean.

Ecolabelling Sweden AB has no financial profit purpose and is financed through the fees above along with an annual government grant. The company is however liable for VAT according to article 56 of the European Council Directive 2006/112/EC.
Invoicing is made in SEK with the exchange rate from the first banking day of the year.
When both the applicant and the manufacturer are micro-enterprises, the application fee is reduced by 50%. A micro-enterprise is in this context defined as an enterprise with less than 10 employees and an annual turnover (of both ecolabelled and not ecolabelled products) below 2 million EUR.

1.11 ⇛ 1.12: Prolongation of the validity of the criteria
The validity of the criteria has been prolonged by 12 months. The new version is called 1.12 and is valid until 31 December 2026.
1.10 ⇛ 1.11: Prolongation of the validity of the criteria
The validity of the criteria has been prolonged by 12 months. The new version is called 1.11 and is valid until 31 December 2025.
1.9 ⇛ 1.10: Prolongation of the validity of the criteria
The validity of the criteria has been prolonged by 12 months. The new version, 1.10, is valid until 31 December 2024.
1.8 ⇛ 1.9: Adjustment and extension of criteria’s validity
The period of validity of the criteria has been extended by 24 months. In addition, the product group definition has been adjusted. The new version, 1.9, is valid until 31 December 2023.
1.7 ⇛ 1.8: Extension of criteria’s validity
The criteria’s validity has been prolonged with 21 months. The new version, 1.8, is valid until December 31st 2021.
1.6 ⇛ 1.7: Extension of criteria’s validity
The criteria’s validity has been prolonged with 24 months. The new version, 1.7, is valid until March 31st 2020.

The validity of Nordic Ecolabel’s criteria for alternative dry cleaning has been extended with 24 months. Also, requirement R15 Marketing was removed. The new version, 1.6, is valid until March 31st 2018.
